Lawrence Bishnoi gang member arrested for extortion and threat calls

Shillong, July 19: A member of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Kashmir Singh alias Bobby Shooter (24), was apprehended by Punjab Police’s State Special Operation Cell on charges of making threatening phone calls and demanding extortion from affluent individuals in Mohali, Chandigarh, and nearby regions. The accused, who worked as a taxi driver and hailed from Patiala, was found in possession of a country-made pistol and two cartridges at the time of his arrest.

Police initiated an investigation after receiving reports of extortion attempts and threatening calls made by an individual claiming affiliation with the Bishnoi gang. Utilizing advanced intelligence gathering, the police successfully tracked down Bobby in the Khanna district.

The modus operandi of the arrested gang member involved making extortion and threat calls to various individuals, including owners of nightclubs and bars in Chandigarh, Mohali, and the neighboring areas.
