SHILLONG, July 25: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong will disseminate awareness among the people to ensure that more and more students from Meghalaya get enrolled for MBA studies in the institute.
It may be noted that the number of students from Meghalaya who have got into the IIMs is quite less.
Reacting to a query here on Tuesday, Prof Basav Roychoudhury from IIM Shillong said that the institute has two students from Meghalaya as of now in the MBA programme. He also pointed out that some students from Meghalaya who clear the Common Admission Test (CAT) go to other IIMs in the country.
Prof Roychoudhury admitted that many students are unaware of IIM Shillong, even as he mentioned that unlike Assam, there are not many coaching and training centres in Shillong to help students qualify for CAT.
In this regard, the IIM Shillog has decided to spread awareness on CAT and MBA while reiterating that no student will be denied opportunity to enrol in the institute due to financial constraints.
