Taekwondo body ousts president, general secretary

SHILLONG, Aug 1: The Meghalaya Taekwondo Association (MTA) passed a resolution on Sunday to remove its president and general secretary, Eugene K Marak and Jadumani Singh respectively, according to a statement.
The decision was taken during a general body meeting of the association.
Taking into consideration the health condition of the president, EK Marak, the association has, however, decided to allow him to resign from the post within seven days on humanitarian ground.
Meanwhile, it has unanimously elected Sebastian Swett as the acting president of the association till a fresh election is conducted. Swett is the former president of the Meghalaya Taekwondo Association and president of the All East Khasi Hills Taekwondo Association.
