Aditionally, a leather purse containing a 100 rupee note, ATM card, a bike and a mobile phone were also seized from his possession.
The East Garo Hills Police has requested citizens to share information on similar activities to local police station, even as it assured that the informant would be rewarded and their identities will be kept a secret.
Khliehriat police on the other hand, apprehended two drug peddlers en route to Shillong from Tripura in a vehicle carrying 47.157 kg of marijuana.
Earlier, the police had set up naka checking based on credible source input at Umtyra. After intercepting the vehicle, police searched it and recovered 37 packets containing suspected cannabis tightly wrapped with brown tape. Preliminary test confirmed that the items were marijuana.
