Shillong, August 6: Haryana’s Home Minister, Anil Vij, has taken action in response to a viral video where a CID inspector claimed to have shared advance information about the recent violence with top officials. The video raised questions about whether the authorities had prior knowledge of the communal tensions that erupted in Nuh on July 31.
Expressing his stance on the matter, Anil Vij stated that he was not informed about any potential build-up of communal tensions leading to the violence in Nuh. He even inquired with the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) and the Director-General of Police (DGP), both of whom confirmed that they also had no prior information regarding the situation. The emergence of the viral video featuring the CID inspector’s claims has further intensified the scrutiny, prompting the question of whom the inspector may have informed about the impending unrest.
As per India Today, Anil Vij has hinted at the possibility of a conspiracy behind the communal clashes, emphasizing that both communities had coexisted peacefully in Nuh for a significant period. With this in mind, an investigation has been ordered to delve into the CID official’s allegations. According to the claims made in the video, the inspector alerted the authorities about a potential clash in Nuh, specifically involving a religious procession and its likelihood to come into conflict with members of another community. The inspector further stated that he was aware of the possibility of sloganeering and the carrying of swords by members of the procession.
The Home Minister’s decision to launch a probe into these allegations aims to ascertain the accuracy of the claims made in the viral video and to shed light on whether any crucial information may have been withheld. As the investigation unfolds, it is expected to provide further clarity on the events leading up to the violence in Nuh and potentially uncover any lapses in communication or intelligence sharing within the concerned authorities.
