I-Day Run in SWKH on August 14

Mawkyrwat, Aug 8: As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the South West Khasi Hills District Independence Day Run 2023 (open category) for both men and women will be held at Mawkyrwat on August 14.
The event will be organised by the office of the District Sports Officer (DSO), South West Khasi Hills, in collaboration with the district administration through the District Sports Promotion Society.
DSO D Syngkon said that the run will commence at 6 am covering a route starting Circuit House, Mawkyrwat, to Iew Mawlein, Jakrem, Sakwang, Pynden Sakwang and culminate at the starting point.
The winner will get a cash prize of Rs 5000, while the second and third place carry Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 cash prizes respectively.
The organisers will also give away consolation prize of Rs 1000 for those placed 4th to 7th, and Rs 500 to the oldest and youngest runners completing the run.
