Centre sanctions Rs 146 crore for four-lane road in NST

SHILLONG, Aug 10: The central government has sanctioned Rs 146 crore for construction of a new four-lane road and conversion of the existing two-lane road into four lanes with cycling tracks, utility ducts, footpaths, etc. at New Shillong Township. The funds were sanctioned under the Prime Minister’s Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE) that was announced as a new central sector scheme in the Union Budget 2022-23. A study on the impact of PMDevINE scheme will be taken up at an appropriate time.
