Shillong, August 13: A Hindu temple in British Columbia, Canada, was vandalized with Khalistan referendum posters affixed to its main door overnight.
The poster displayed the message, “Canada Investigates India’s Role in June 18th assassination,” accompanied by a photograph of Hardeep Singh Nijjar.
As per a report in India Today, Nijjar, the former head of the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara Sahib in Surrey, Canada, was killed on June 18 within the gurdwara’s premises.
He was associated with the separatist group Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF). The targeted temple, Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, is one of the oldest and largest Hindu temples in British Columbia.
This marks the third temple vandalization incident in Canada this year. Earlier incidents occurred in Brampton and Ontario, sparking condemnation and concern within the Indian community.
