Shillong, August 24: Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, continues to make waves in the media industry by offering news organizations a share of advertising revenue generated on X, his platform formerly known as Twitter.
As per IANS, in a bid to attract journalists, Musk has extended his X advertising revenue program to encompass media houses. He tweeted, “Our advertising revenue share programme also applies to organisations (news or otherwise) who wish to participate.”
Earlier this week, Musk invited journalists to publish directly on X, emphasizing the potential for higher income. He modified the platform’s display of news articles, stripping headlines and text from shared articles and showcasing only the lead image and the URL. He stated that this change would enhance aesthetics.
Responding to user feedback, Musk has now proposed refining the format of news articles on X. He envisions articles featuring solely a lead image and the source URL, with the image serving as a clickable link to the full article. This alteration could potentially compact individual posts, allowing users’ timelines to display more content.
Musk’s efforts to engage journalists directly and reshape the news-sharing experience reflect his ongoing commitment to innovation and experimentation. As he explores novel avenues in media and technology, the industry keeps a watchful eye on his evolving strategies.
