Shillong, September 2: Zeenat Aman, known as the ‘Insta queen’ for her engaging Instagram posts, recently delved into the past as she revisited the culture of gossip and tabloids in Bollywood.

As per IANS, the veteran actress shared an old magazine cover from 1979 on her Instagram account, highlighting the controversial stories that often surrounded her during that era.

In a caption, Zeenat Aman discussed the culture of targeting actors in the past. She mentioned how headlines in 1979 suggested she had cursed herself, in 1982 she was a target, in 1984 she was out of sync, in 1985 she was on a path to self-destruction, and in 1998 she was shattered. Zeenat expressed how she used to subscribe to glossies and tabloids at one point but quickly found herself unable to relate to the image they portrayed of her. The tabloids lacked proper fact-checking, and their reports often invaded the privacy of stars.

Zeenat highlighted the toll these scandals took on her, causing anxiety, outrage, and grief. She toughened her skin over time, realizing that challenging the persona the tabloids created was futile. She recalled confronting a senior editor, unnamed in her post, who offered excuses but no apology for malicious stories.

In conclusion, Zeenat Aman emphasized that people will always find reasons to talk, but it’s essential not to let their opinions or perceptions define one’s life. She encouraged individuals to define their lives for themselves.
