Shillong, September 3: In the past 24 hours, Lucknow has witnessed a surge in dengue cases, reporting 15 new infections, marking the highest daily count this year.

As per IANS, the health department reported that among the new cases, three were from Indira Nagar, five from Chander Nagar, four from NK Road, and two from Aliganj.

District health education officer Yogesh Raghuvanshi assured that these patients are in stable condition and are recovering at home.

Health teams took action by visiting 509 households to inspect potential mosquito breeding sites on Saturday. They issued notices at six locations where mosquito larvae were found.

Dr. Abhishek Shukla, Secretary-General of the Association of International Doctors, emphasized that even a small amount of stagnant water can lead to mosquito breeding, and urged residents to eliminate such sources from their homes and surroundings.

To date, the state capital has reported over 150 dengue cases, while approximately 500 cases have been documented across the state.

District Malaria Officer Ritu Srivastava urged residents not to dispose of items like empty or used coconut shells or cans in open areas, as they can serve as breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
