Shillong, September 11: An FIR has been lodged against an individual accused of sexually harassing a female passenger during a Mumbai-Guwahati IndiGo flight, as confirmed by an airline spokesperson.

As per IANS, the distressing incident unfolded on flight 6E 5319 on September 10, leading to the apprehension of the alleged perpetrator by Assam Police upon the aircraft’s arrival in Guwahati. The victim had filed a complaint detailing the incident as a case of sexual harassment.

The airline spokesperson stated, “An FIR has been filed by the complainant with the local police, and we will provide assistance in their investigation, where required.”

This incident is part of a concerning trend, with at least four instances of sexual harassment occurring on flights within the last two months. In a recent case on August 16, an alleged incident of sexual harassment transpired on a Delhi-Mumbai SpiceJet flight, garnering attention on social media through a viral video.
