Shillong, September 12: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remains stuck in Delhi after his aircraft encountered a technical glitch on September 10, coinciding with the conclusion of the G20 Summit.
According to CBC news, his backup plane, en route from Canada, was unexpectedly diverted to London, with no official explanation provided for this diversion.
Trudeau had arrived in Delhi on September 8, accompanied by his son Xavier, to participate in the G20 Summit. Originally scheduled to depart on September 10, his plans were disrupted due to the aircraft malfunction, necessitating an extended stay in Delhi.
To facilitate his return, the Canadian Armed Forces dispatched a CC-150 Polaris aircraft after the plane he initially used to travel to Delhi was grounded due to technical problems, as reported by the Toronto Sun on Monday.
However, the replacement plane, which was initially routing through Rome on its way to Delhi, underwent diversion to London. The Canadian Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated that the earliest possible departure from London would be early Tuesday morning, local time, as indicated by the CBC news report.
