Inquiry against caretaker of Asikandi VEC

TURA, Sep 17: After complaints were filed against the caretaker of the Asikandi Village Employment Coincil (VEC), the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Demdema Block in West Garo Hills district has ordered an inquiry which will be conducted on September 19.
The complaint against VEC caretaker Mofidur Rahman was submitted by local Gaon Bura, Sayad Zaman and others.
The complainants alleged that Rahman was part of the VEC led by Nazmul Hashan that had misappropriated government funds by preparing the MR for dead persons, dual job card holders and even persons serving in government departments in 2020.
The Inquiry is to be conducted by APOs G G Momin and Sailendra B Sangma along with two others.
