Shillong, September 20: BookMyShow has announced the cancellation of Shubhneet Singh’s upcoming India tour. The cancellation comes amid social media pressure over his alleged support for Khalistani elements. However, the platform’s statement did not specify the reason behind the tour’s cancellation.

BookMyShow stated, “Singer Shubneet Singh’s Still Rollin Tour for India stands cancelled. To that end, BookMyShow has initiated a complete refund of the ticket amount for all consumers who had purchased tickets for the show. The refunds will be reflected within 7-10 working days in the customer’s source account of the original transaction.”

As per Hindustan Times, the 26-year-old Punjab-born artist was set to kick off his three-month-long tour with shows in Mumbai from September 23 to 25. He was also scheduled to perform in 11 other cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and more.

In March, Singh posted two stories on his Instagram account that excluded Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir from the map of India. This sparked outrage, especially during a police crackdown on Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh and his associates. Singh and his group, ‘Waris Punjab De,’ are currently in jail in Assam’s Dibrugarh.

On September 19, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused India of being involved in the June killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, Canada. Nijjar was a known proponent of Khalistan and a designated terrorist in India.
