Thunderstorm lashes city, power supply hit

SHILLONG, Oct 6: A thunderstorm hit Shillong city and other neighbouring areas on Friday morning causing some damage in the city. Several parts of the Northeast, including Meghalaya, have been witnessing heavy rainfall since Thursday.
Branches of some trees were uprooted in different parts of the city disrupting power supply in several localities on Friday.
Police confirmed that there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
The IMD has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas till Sunday.
