PFR, Sanmer register wins

Shillong, October 11: In a day filled with exciting football action, PFR Academy and Sanmer SC emerged victorious in their respective matches at the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division, held at the Polo Ground on Wednesday.
In the Group B clash, PFR Academy secured a 2-0 victory against Mawshbuit SC, courtesy of goals from Fleming Suting in the 44th minute and Andy Suting in the 55th minute, at the First Ground.
Meanwhile, at the same venue but in Group C, the highly anticipated match between Umpling SC and Lumparing SC ended in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Both teams displayed their prowess by taking the lead at different points in the game, ultimately sharing the points.
Umpling SC took an early lead with Klinton Roy Mylliem Umlong scoring in the 5th minute. Gilbert Nongneng then equalized for Lumparing in the 10th minute before giving his side the lead in the 22nd minute.
The drama continued as Donbok Sing L Lyngkhoi netted an equalizer for Umpling SC in the 80th minute.Over at the Third Ground, Sanmer SC secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Mylliem Lum SC, also in Group C. Babitdor Dorphang was the star of the match, scoring for Sanmer SC in the 47th and 73rd minutes, while Michael Kurbah managed to score a consolation goal for Mylliem Lum SC in the 71st minute.The action-packed day left fans eagerly anticipating today’s fixtures in the SSA Third Division, which include: Tynring SC vs Nongumlong SC in Group D at 1:10 PM, First Ground; Umlyngka SC vs Gorkha Association in Group A at 3:00 PM, First Ground; Lumdiengjri SC vs Lawmali Pyllun SC in Group D at 3:00 PM, Third Ground.
As the tournament unfolds, the anticipation builds, promising more unforgettable moments on the football pitch.
