Man beheads sister over relationship with a Muslim
AGAR MALWA (MP), Oct 13: A man allegedly beheaded his 24-year-old sister with a sword for being in a relationship with a man from another community in Madhya Pradesh’s Agar Malwa district, police said on Friday.The incident took place at Bijanagar village under the Barod police station area, about 25 km from the district headquarters, on Thursday, an official said.The man’s father Chander Lal informed the police that his son Bagdu (26) killed his daughter Rekha (name changed) with a sword, area Inspector Arvind Singh Rathore said.“We rushed to the spot and found Rekha lying dead,” he said.The accused was angry that his sister had left her husband and was living with a man from the Muslim community for the last two years, the official said.The accused allegedly attacked his sister when she came to visit her parents at their house, he said.The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem, the official said, adding that the accused has been arrested and the sword used in the crime has also been recovered. Man’s shooting bid in Thane bakery fails
as pistol jams
THANE, Oct 13: An unidentified gunman barged into a bakery in Thane on Friday, pointed a gun at some staffers, and attempted to shoot them, but the gun got jammed and he fled the spot, police said.The shocking incident happened in the International Baking Company’s Mira Road town outlet around 10 am, said an official of Kashi-Mira Road PS. The unknown person, wearing a helmet, entered the bakery and pointed the revolver at the staffers who froze in terror, and started to shoot them, but the weapon did not fire.Panicking, the would-be-shooter opened the bakery door and fled from the scene.The bakery staffers alerted the police who rushed to the spot. The police have formed a special squad to track the mystery gunman, checking the CCTVs on the roads and other locations.The incident at the shop, which is barely a few metres away from the local police station, sent shockwaves in the locality even as police beefed up patrolling and security as a precaution. Man nabbed six years after allegedly killing live-in partner
RANCHI, Oct 13: Six years after allegedly strangulating his live-in partner to death in Gurugram over the suspicion that she was having an affair with someone else, the accused man was arrested from his home state Jharkhand, police said on Friday. The accused has been identified as Rang Bhadhur, a native of Jharkhand and the victim was identified as Anita, a native of Malda in West Bengal.According to the police, they were live-in partners and used to reside in a rented accommodation in Tigra village of Gurugram till 2017. “The accused was married. The duo used to reside together in Tigra village. But he had some suspicions about the woman. On February 9, 2017, the accused killed the woman, dumped her body in a drain, and fled,” ACP, Crime, Varun Dahiya said. He has been on the run since 2017. (PTI)
