Shillong, October 27: In an operation conducted early Friday, the Israeli military reported that their fighter jets successfully targeted three senior Hamas operatives within the Daraj Tuffah Battalion.
As per India Today, this battalion played a significant role in the invasion and lethal attack on Israel that occurred on October 7. The Daraj Tuffah Battalion is recognized as one of the most significant brigades within the Hamas terrorist organization, as confirmed by the Israeli Defense Forces.
A statement posted on the official Israel Defense Forces handle on [X] stated, “IDF fighter jets struck three senior Hamas operatives in the Daraj Tuffah Battalion. The battalion’s operatives played a pivotal role in the invasion and murderous attack against Israel on October 7, and they are considered the foremost brigade within the Hamas terrorist organization.”
The Israeli Air Force further added, “The Daraj Tuffah Battalion is a crucial component of the Gaza City Brigade, widely acknowledged as the most significant brigade within the Hamas terrorist organization. Its members played a substantial role in the fatal events of October 7.” The Israeli military emphasized that the elimination of these Hamas operatives was carried out with precise intelligence guidance from the Israel Security Agency, Shin Bet.
Additionally, on the preceding day, the Israeli Defense Forces reported the elimination of Shadi Barud, the deputy head of Hamas’s intelligence directorate, in an aerial strike. He was directly linked to the planning of the October 7 attack on Israel.
