Tura, Oct 28: A memorandum has been forwarded to the principal secretary, health and family welfare seeking the inauguration of the Kashiabari Primary Health Centre at the earliest.
An NGO, identifying themselves as Anti Corruption Foundation of India (ACFI) from West Garo Hills on Friday said in their memorandum to the principal secretary, health and family welfare, Sampath Kumar that the PHC was established more than 15 years ago under the Selsella C&RD Block with its infrastructure set up being completed many years ago.
They added that staff were also posted at the PHC for it to begin functioning.
However the posting of the employees has now been shifted to a nearby Bhaitbari PHC.
“This move has posed serious hardships on the people who would otherwise fall under the jurisdiction of the PHC. Most of the people here are from very poor backgrounds and the opening of the PHC would have been a boon. As such, we request you to kindly look into the matter and help open the PHC as early as possible,” the organisation stated in the memorandum.
At the same time, the organisation further demanded the installation of an ambulance in the PHC along with other requisite infrastructures.
