Delhi Police bust carjacking racket, recover 10 luxury cars
NEW DELHI, Nov 1: The Delhi Police have arrested four men who used a software tab (palmtop) to prepare a duplicate key of a car before stealing it, an officer said on Wednesday, adding that they have also recovered 10 stolen luxury cars including Toyota Fortuner and Alcazar, 50 master keys and 10 fake number plates from the gang.The accused were identified as Mohd. Sablu (24), Mohd. Asif (22), both residents of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh, Sagar Barman (23) and Pasang Tamang (33), both residents of Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh. According to the police, while analysing the trends of thefts of high end luxury cars, it was observed that Fortuners/ Creta, Alcazar, Honda City, I20, Tata Nexon cars were mostly targeted by the lifters. “Accordingly, the pattern was studied to bust the organised syndicate who were involved in dealing in these highly valuable cars. Manual as well as technical surveillance was mounted. Finally, specific inputs were developed about the stolen luxury cars, which were being delivered to North-Eastern parts of India,” said Special Commissioner of Police (crime) Ravindra Singh Yadav. On interrogation, Sablu disclosed that to live a lavish life, he started selling stolen cars to Arunachal Pradesh based people and came in contact with Tamang and Barman. He started dealing in stolen cars with them and organised a crime syndicate.(IANS)

 

4 LeT terrorist associates arrested in J&K
SRINAGAR, Nov 1: Four terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT/TRF have been arrested by joint security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district and arms and ammunition and other incriminating materials recovered from their possession, police said on Wednesday.Police said on October 30, a joint team of Baramulla police, along with army and the CRPF, at a checkpoint established at Naradhiri Dangerpora junction intercepted two suspicious persons, who on seeing the joint party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended.They were identified as Gh Hassan Mir, resident of Muran Tangwari Chandoosa and Mukhtar Ahmad Khan, resident of Pinjwara Laridora Chandoosa.During search, a Chinese pistol, one pistol magazine, 12 live rounds, two hand grenades and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. Father beats up daughter, forces her to consume pesticide
KOCHI, Nov 1: In a shocking incident from Kerala, a father allegedly beat up his 14-year-old daughter and forced her to consume a pesticide for continuing her relationship with a boy against his wishes, police said.Police arrested the father today and booked him for the offences of attempted murder and voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons and means under the IPC.The girl is admitted to a private hospital here and her health condition is still serious, they said.The incident occurred on Sunday when the girl disregarded her father’s direction not to get in touch with the 16-year-old boy and obtained a phone to call him.Both study in the same school and the father had taken away his daughter’s phone to prevent her from talking to the boy.
