Major fire destroys vehicles in Mumbai high-rise parking lot

Shillong, November 7: A significant fire erupted in the parking lot of a high-rise building in Dadar West, reducing at least 16 cars and two two-wheelers to ashes, according to the BMC Disaster Control.

As per IANS, the blaze was first reported at around 12.30 am in Podium 4 of the three-level basement parking, located in the 13-floor podium Kohinoor Building parking area within a 30-storey residential tower.

The exact cause of the fire remains unclear, but it rapidly spread to the vehicles, including some high-end cars, which were parked in close proximity to each other, along with the two-wheelers. The Mumbai Fire Brigade and Police were called to the scene to tackle the blaze.

Firefighters arrived and successfully extinguished the fire by around 2:30 a.m. Fortunately, there have been no reports of any casualties. A probe into the incident has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire.
