Viral video case: Police apprehend drug supplier

SHILLONG, Nov 8: After a viral video led to suspicions running rife about a possible drug deal in broad daylight in the city, the East Khasi Hills Anti Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) apprehended a woman (26), who was seen in the video, after a raid in the slum area of Harijan Colony and also recovered from her possession 92 vials of heroin weighing 99.21 grams.
Earlier, the viral video of alleged sale of drugs happening in broad daylight near Bimola Junction on G.S. Road had caused public consternation.
Police said that a hunt is on to nab other drug suppliers in the area.
Besides the heroin, other items recovered were 51 empty vials, 13 soap cases for packing heroin, a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card.
