Shillong, November 10: Akram Khan, also known as Akram Gazi, was fatally shot in the Bajaur district of Pakistan, where he led the LeT recruitment cell from 2018 to 2020.

As per a report in India Today, known for his vehement anti-India rhetoric, Khan played a prominent role in the terror group for an extensive period. His position involved identifying and enlisting individuals sympathetic to extremist causes.

This incident follows the killing of Shahid Latif, a key figure behind the Pathankot attack, and the September assassination of Riyaz Ahmad, an influential LeT commander, inside Al-Qudus mosque.

Ahmad, also known as Abu Qasim, was shot at close range while offering prayers, marking a series of targeted assassinations within LeT’s leadership in Pakistan and its occupied territories.
