Inter-departmental meeting explores ways to improve work of Meghalaya PWD

Shillong, Nov 14: Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday informed that a joint meeting with the planning department, finance and PWD was held to discuss on how to improve the working system of PWD in Meghalaya.

Tynsong said that they had finalised that an Office Memorandum which consisted of all the details as per presentation given today. “We discussed that we should categorise the state roads into  major and minor roads or which are village roads and most commercial roads,” mentioned the PWD minister.

Furthermore, the minister stated that be it the construction of new road or repairing and maintenance of old roads that would be done as per the categories of the roads. “At present in Meghalaya we have not less than 10,000 km of state roads excluding National Highway,” he said
