Viksit Bharat Sankalp yatra to cover 49 villages in Thadlaskein

JOWAI, Nov 16: Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, initiated by the central government to reach out to the public through the IEC (Information, Education and Communication) van, will cover 49 villages in Thadlaskein Block to spread awareness about government welfare schemes.
This was informed by BDO of Thadlaskein Block, B Langbang.
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs observed the Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat at Thadlaskein C&RD Block in West Jaintia Hills.
The awareness programe was held at ATS Kyortyrkhang, Khliehtyrshi West Jaintia Hills. The officers from the block office, KVK, Agriculture, Branch Manager of SBI, Jowai, and others educated the participants on the various government schemes including PMAY, PMJAY, NRML, Atal Pension Yojna, PM Jan Dhan Yojana, Nano fertilizers and other schemes.
A similar programme was also held at Moopyllaitsyiar, Khliehtryshi on Thursday.
The Viksit pledge was taken by the participants led by the BDO of Thadlaskein Block.
During the awareness programme, the medical department conducted free health screening including BP test, TB screenings, along with smart card service.
The beneficiaries from the government scheme were also given an opportunity to share their experience.
A short skit was also presented by the village organsiation with a message on protecting the environment.
