Mariamma Thomas has taken charge as the new Chief Postmaster General, North East Postal Circle. North East Postal Circle comprises 4478 Post Offices spread across Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur, Mizoram and Nagaland with Headquarter in Shillong. Thomas is a 1994 Batch Officer of the Indian Postal Service.
Body found
An unknown body of a man around 50-60 years was found hanging from a railing on G.S Road towards the deep gorge side on Tuesday, police said in a statement. After post-mortem examination, the body was kept at NEIGRIHMS Morgue Room for identification and claim. The man was 5 feet 5 inches tall, swarthy-complexioned, and was found wearing blue sweater, grey pants and orange shoes.
