JOWAI, Nov 29: The transport cost for passengers to travel from Jowai to Shillong and vice versa has been reduced following a resolution agreed upon by two commercial vehicle associations — JSGTCA Jowai and ITD&OA Shillong.
The main aim of the move was to make the journey affordable for regular passengers.
Previously Rs 250 per trip per head, the fare will now be Rs 200.
The newly introduced rate will be effective from Friday.
Hence, the leaders of both associations have requested the vehicle owners and their respective drivers to comply with the decision and at the same time avoid any misunderstanding between the passengers and the drivers.
