Tura, Nov 30: In a riveting match at the GBHSS Artificial Football Turf in Chandmary on Thursday, Chipakkore FC emerged victorious in the Round of 16 of the Tura Champions Trophy. The spirited encounter pitted Chipakkore FC against Babelapara SYC, resulting in a 2-1 scoreline in favor of the former.
The first half saw Chipakkore FC seizing an early lead with a 1-0 score, setting the stage for an intense battle. The second half witnessed Chipakkore FC further extending their dominance with another goal, securing a decisive lead. Despite Babelapara SYC managing to score a solitary goal in the second half, they fell short of catching up.
The standout performance of Samuel Shadap from Chipakkore FC earned him the coveted Player of the Match honors.
As the tournament progresses, the spotlight now shifts to the Quarterfinals, commencing on December 1st and concluding on December 2nd, featuring eight qualifying clubs vying for supremacy.

Notably, the District Football Association of Tura is closely monitoring player performances during each match. The aim is to identify top talent for an Invitational football tournament at Mawkyrwat on December 8, 2023, for the Tura United football club, a project team under DFA.
Out of the 16 teams invited to the tournament, Tura United Football Club has received a coveted invitation.
Anticipation builds for the grand finale, scheduled to take place at the PA Sangma Football Stadium on December 11, promising a thrilling climax to the Tura Champions Trophy.
As the Tura Champions Trophy progresses with fervor and excitement, the triumph of Chipakkore FC in the Round of 16 not only showcases their prowess on the field but also sets the tone for the forthcoming Quarterfinal clashes.
