Nongpoh, Dec 8: The golden jubilee celebration of Nepali Secondary School, Nongpoh concluded with a variety of programme organised at the district library hall, Nongpoh on Friday.
The celebration was enriched with cultural performances, including songs and dances, showcasing the vibrant spirit and diversity within the school community.
The ceremony commenced with the cutting of the jubilee cake, a symbolic gesture led by the chief guest and other dignitaries, marking the conclusion of 50 years of the institution’s impactful journey.
The souvenir of the school, marking the historical occasion was also released by Education Minister and chief guest of the event, Rakkam A Sangma.
Addressing the audience, the education minister commended the vision and mission of the school’s founders, acknowledging their instrumental role in establishing and sustaining the institution. He emphasized the importance of nurturing effective leaders, attributing the school’s success to the legacy of producing commendable successors.
Sangma urged the present managing committee and teachers to uphold their commitment to quality service, recognizing that the future of the institution rests on their shoulders.
The event had in attendees Nongpoh MLA, Mayralborn Syiem, Assistant Commissioner Ri Bhoi, Manish Kumar and other dignitaries.
Headmasters, and headmistresses from different schools, along with parents, teachers, were also part of the celebration.
