Presidential convoy kills goat at Mawngap

SHILLONG, Jan 16: Two days after a dog was severely injured during a trial run of the President’s convoy in Tura, a goat was run over by the convoy of President Droupadi Murmu near Mawngap on Tuesday.
A video has gone viral which shows the escort vehicle of the President’s convoy passing when a sound is heard and as soon as the camera moves to the left, a goat is seen dead on the road.
The convoy is seen moving on towards the end of the video.
On Sunday, a dog was run over by one of the cars in the Presidential convoy during rehearsals in Tura.
A video shot by a passerby shows the dog writhing in pain, as the convoy makes it way forward without stopping for the injured animal.
The Shillong Times could not independently verify the authenticity of either of the videos.
