Shillong, Jan 17: Wednesday’s Under-16 Boys Football League 2023-24 unfolded a series of exhilarating clashes, showcasing remarkable talent and intense competition.
The inaugural face-off witnessed Rangdajied United FC taking on Merinda FC, resulting in a closely contested score of (1 – 2). Rangdajied United FC managed to secure a goal through Menangpyndap Khongjee in the 49th minute. Meanwhile, Merinda FC netted two goals, with Nathaniel Kharkongor finding the net in the 22nd minute and Bankynsaibor Diengdoh adding another in the 44th minute.
The second match showcased Iaitylli SC’s dominance as they overpowered Umpling SC with an impressive scoreline of (7 – 2). Iaitylli SC exhibited a stellar performance, securing seven goals.
Danestar Mylliemngap contributed in the 7th and 42nd minutes, Meshwa Khongkhiniam in the 10th and 12th minutes, and Justbonstar Lawei in the 14th, 44th, and 57th minutes. Umpling SC managed to score two goals, with Mebanrilang Tariang in the 20th minute and Bankit Ryndem in the 58th minute.Mawreng SC clinched victory against Lah Bet SC with a scoreline of (2 – 1). Mawreng SC’s goals were courtesy of Dalambha Nongkhlaw in the 3rd minute and Banaijingshai Pathaw in the 9th minute. Lah Bet FC managed to secure one goal through Melbartson Kharbngar in the 40th minute.
The final match of the day featured Mawpat SC against Lumshyiap SC, with Lumshyiap SC emerging victorious with a scoreline of (0 – 1). Iaikyrshan Kharmawlong scored the lone goal in the 49th minute.
The football action is set to continue on Thursday with matches in the SSA 1st Division Football League 2023-24. The SSA Ground will host the clash between Malki SC and Nongrim Hills SC, with the kick-off scheduled for 2:15 PM.
As the echoes of Wednesday’s matches fade away, the fervor and excitement linger in anticipation of more thrilling encounters to come.
