Agatha urges Koch youths to avail of government schemes

Tura, Jan 19: Tura MP Agatha K Sangma on Thursday urged youths belonging to the Koch community to take advantage of various government schemes to achieve financial stability for themselves and the community.

The Tura MP was speaking during the 2nd Koch Youth Festival organized by the Meghalaya Koch Students’ Union (MKSU) at Kumligaon Playground in South West Garo Hills from January 17to 18.

Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest, Agatha complimented the MKSU for its various social activities aimed at uplifting the community, particularly the youth. Informing that there were various government schemes available for the community, she urged the youths to make use of them and help the community as a whole to grow.

Earlier on the opening day, the festival Flag was hoisted by MKSU President Kandarpa Koch.

The two day festival saw the participation many government officials and renowned citizens including former and present GHADC MDCs like Nripendra Koch, Pramod Koch etc.
