Devotees in state ready for Ram Mandir consecration

SHILLONG, Jan 21: Hindu devotees in Meghalaya, like those across the nation, are getting ready for the festivities that will mark the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on Monday.
Various puja and temple management committees will be hosting a range of events, including chanting of hymn, singing of devotional songs, and puja rituals at every temple.
The Central Puja Committee (CPC) will light earthen lamps at the Wahumkhrah river immersion ghat at Polo to commemorate the occasion.
Members of the public and various Hindu committees and associations are expected to attend the event at the immersion ghat.
Earlier in the day, devotees in Jowai conducted a Kalash Yatra and fervently gathered water in earthen pots from the Myntdu river.
All central government establishments in the state will remain closed for half a day on Monday.
