Shillong, Feb 7: The stage is set for an exhilarating showdown as Touchline Basketball, in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, gears up to host the much-anticipated 8th Edition of the North East 3×3 Basketball Challenge. Scheduled to unfold on March 1 and 2, 2024, this year’s event promises to be a spectacle like never before, boasting a generous total prize pool of Rupees 1,00,000 for both the Men’s and Women’s Categories.
Notably, the tournament holds the endorsement of FIBA3X3, the esteemed global authority on 3×3 Basketball.
Renowned as a hallmark event in the region, the North East 3×3 Basketball Challenge draws talented athletes and fervent basketball enthusiasts from across the North East and beyond. With two categories dedicated to men and women, the competition is expected to showcase the finest talents in the sport.
The prestigious St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School in Shillong has been selected as the venue, providing the ideal setting for two days of intense basketball action. Fans can anticipate riveting matches, breathtaking displays of athleticism, and indelible moments on the court.Beyond its sporting significance, the North East 3×3 Basketball Challenge is also committed to raising awareness for a critical cause. Partnering with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society, the event aims to educate attendees about HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, leveraging the influence of sports to effect positive change within the community.
