SHILLONG, Feb 10: The Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress on Saturday slammed the NPP-led MDA government for spending money on ‘tamashas’ when it should instead hike the salaries of ASHA workers.
While stating that the state government ‘is not at all women friendly’, Meghalaya Pradesh Mahila Congress president, Joplyn Shylla pointed out the government has forced the Asha workers to come out on the streets to protest for their salary which is their right.
Asha workers work tirelessly from dawn to night, they take care of all the health issues which women and children face but the government has turned a blind eye to their issues.
