In the news item “Open cast mining may harm the environment: Experts” published in The Shillong Times on February 15, 2024, the word ‘NABARD’ should read as ‘NABET’, which is the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training. Also the State Expert Appraisal Committee will recommend to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) for grant of environment clearance and not as mentioned. The errors are regretted.
