Goa Police register case after attack on minister
PANAJI, Feb 20: Goa Police has registered a case against a mob for allegedly rioting and creating unlawful assembly, wherein Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai was attacked with stones.Police said that a case has been registered for rioting and creating unlawful assembly.“This has happened in our presence. Hence we don’t require any complaint from the minister. We have registered the case under sections of rioting and creating unlawful assembly. So far we have identified 20 persons and are trying to identify others,” police said.Phal Dessai was attacked while he was returning after inaugurating the statue of Shivaji in South Goa.The BJP leader said that he was invited to inaugurate the statue on Shivaji’s his birth anniversary. Locals from the area complained that the statue was allegedly illegally installed. (IANS)

Class X student founding hanging before board exam
BHUBANESWAR, Feb 20: In a tragic incident, a Class X student was found hanging in the washroom of his hostel in Odisha, just a few hours before the commencement of the state board examination on Tuesday.The deceased was a student of Viswatma Vidyamandir.The student’s roommates spotted his body hanging from the ceiling of the washroom. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him dead. The student reportedly committed suicide due the pressure of board examination.Police have launched a probe into the matter after registering a case. (IANS)
