JOWAI, March 20: JOWAI, March 20: As part of the commemoration of World Consumer Rights Day, a Quiz competition was hosted by Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai, on Tuesday.
The event, held exclusively for members of the college’s BIS Standards Clubs, was originally scheduled for March 15, but had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
It aimed to commemorate consumer rights globally while engaging students in a fun and intellectually stimulating competition.
Dr Blessing Roy Suchiang, Mentor, Standards Clubs, Kiang Nangbah Government College, who was the driving force behind the event, welcomed everyone to the programme, and expressed satisfaction with the turnout and engagement of students’ participation.
He emphasized that the Quiz competition not only celebrated the intellect and dedication of the college students but also underscored the importance of consumer rights in today’s global marketplace.
Through initiatives like this, we empower the next generation to become informed advocates for ethical standards and responsible consumption, remarked Dr Suchiang.
The college students performed a cultural dance to showcase the vibrancy of the traditions, customs, and values of the Pnar community to make the event lively.
After a short tea break, the Quiz competition started in the second session. The winners of the Quiz Competition were Hamesainkupar Shadap and Wanshandame Dkhar, while placed second and third were Because Syrti and NgihunlangShadap, and EbakordorIakai and Fascilitia Myrchiang recently. Laxmi Kumari and Sujatha Nath bagged the consolation prize.
