SHILLONG, March 23: Raj Bhavan Shillong joined the global Earth Hour initiative by switching off all non-essential lights from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, marking a symbolic gesture highlighting Raj Bhavan’s dedication to environmental conservation and promoting energy-saving practices.
Essential lighting remained active for security, while solar power equipment operated to reduce reliance on the main grid during this hour, according to a statement issued here.
