Shillong, March 27: The Sub Junior Artistic Gymnastics National Championship 2023-24, held in Prayagraj and hosted by Khelgoan Public School under the Gymnastics Federation of India’s auspices, witnessed spirited participation from the Meghalaya Gymnastics Association.

These gymnasts showcased their skills and determination across various disciplines, including Floor Exercises, Balancing Beam, Uneven Bars, and Vaulting table, during the championship held from March 20 to 22, 2024.
With over 700 gymnasts representing 25 states vying for top honors, the competition was intense and marked by exemplary performances. Lucy M. Malngiang, serving as the General Secretary of the Meghalaya Gymnastics Association, assumed the role of Team Manager, while Idalin Malngiang served as the Coach, guiding and supporting the young athletes throughout the championship. The event provided invaluable exposure and learning opportunities for the budding gymnasts, enabling them to refine their techniques and showcase their talents on a national stage. In light of this, the Meghalaya Gymnastics Association earnestly appeals to the State Government for the establishment of a dedicated Gymnastics hall and the appointment of a qualified coach. Such initiatives would not only promote the sport of gymnastics within the state but also empower young gymnasts to excel in both national and international competitions.
