Journos sensitised on deworming

SHILLONG, April 20: A state sensitisation workshop for media persons on deworming was organised as part of National Deworming Day in Shillong on Thursday.
During the workshop, which was organised by the Information, Education & Communication (IEC) National Health Mission (NHM), media persons were briefed on the role of National Deworming Day as well as the importance and other aspects of deworming.
Addressing the workshop, Joint Director of Health Services (MCH&FW)-cum -State Nodal Officer for Child Health and Immunization, Dr. Badira Mawlong, spoke about the myths associated with the deworming.
Clarifying that there is no major side effects of deworming, she informed that they plan to provide Albendazole tablets to 15 lakh children in the age group of 1-19 years.
