STCC Pongtung Cluster, Mawsynram Cluster get wins

U-15 Boys Inter-Cluster Cricket

Shillong, April 22: In the first match of Day 2 of the (L) Benjamin Diengdoh Memorial U-15 Boys Inter Cluster Cricket Tournament 2024, STCC Pongtung Cluster faced off against Laitjem Cluster.
Opting to field first after winning the toss, Laitjem Cluster restricted STCC Pongtung Cluster to a relatively small target of 76/10 in 17.1overs. Mebanlambha Lyngshiang led the scoring with 14 runs off 42 deliveries, while Badkidonlang Pathaw impressed with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 12 runs in 3 overs.
In response, Laitjem Cluster struggled to chase down the target and managed to score only 60/10 in their 12.5 overs. Wanrahbok Kharsati top-scored with 10 runs off 13 balls. Mebanlambha Lyngshiang was the pick of the bowlers for STCC Pongtung Cluster, taking 4 wickets for just 4 runs in 2.5 overs.
Ultimately, STCC Pongtung Cluste emerged victorious by 16 runs, with Mebanlambha Lyngshiang being awarded the Player of the Match for his impactful performance.
In the second match of the day, Sohra Cluster (B) locked horns with Mawsynram Cluster.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Mawsynram Cluster put up a competitive total of 118/10 in 20. Nangsan Kynter top-scored with 23 runs off 19 balls, while Mewan Malngiang was impressive with the ball, claiming 2 wickets for 20 runs in his 4 overs.
Sohra Cluster (B) faltered during the chase, eventually ending on 106/10 runs in 16.4 overs. Damechwa Khongsngi led the charge with an impressive 54 runs off 43 deliveries, however, failing to take his team over the line. Nangsan Kynter was the best bowler for Mawsynram Cluster, ending the match with figures of 2/25 in 3.4 overs. Mawsynram Cluster sealed the win by 12 wickets, with Nangsan Kynter being named the Player of the Match.
