Demand panel on quota policy formed in GH

TURA, May 19: The Garo Reservation Policy Demand Committee (GRPDC) was formed on Sunday, May 19 in Tura, with the aim to ensure the upholding of the status quo in accordance with the letter and spirit of the existing of reservation policy.
The primary objective of the GRPDC is to press the the Meghalaya government to maintain the status quo of the state reservation policy 1972 and to advocate for the preservation of the current reservation policy as well as to resist any attempts to review or alter this policy.
The new body elected Dr. Meril N Sangma as President, Coffpelsil R Marak, Landsdown Ch Momin and Gredason Ch Momin as Vice President, Rev. Mr. Insting C Marak as Secretary, Adv Bernitha Marak as Joint Secretary, Amsrang D Momin as Publicity Secretary and balkarin ch marak and Chevibirth marak as organising secretaries.
