TURA, May 20: The AHAM from Rongjeng in East Garo Hills has alleged that the Milawe-Baringgre PMGSY road in the same district is being constructed shoddily.
In a complaint to the Executive Engineer of the PWD (Roads) Williamnagar, the group also sought the Public Works Department’s intervention in the matter.
The AHAM also pointed out that the centrally funded initiative, pivotal for rural connectivity, had not met prescribed quality benchmarks.
“The substandard work done by the contractor concerned is unacceptable given the project’s credibility. The road’s present condition is not only unsatisfactory but also a source of anguish for the community,” it said.
The AHAM further informed that despite the village residents lodging complaints against the contractor in question, there has been no discernible action taken to address these issues.
