Couple jumps before moving train with 2 children
JABALPUR, June 5: A railway trackman and his wife along with their two children jumped in front a moving train in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district on Wednesday morning, police said.The incident took place on a railway track in Sihoda village under Bhedaghat police station limits police said, adding the reason behind it was not yet known.The bodies of Narendra Chadhar, his wife Reena, and two daughters aged 6 years and 3 months, were found on the railway track while his motorcycle was found parked nearby.It seems they committed suicide, the police said, adding the incident was being probed from all angles.Narendra Chadhar’s father-in-law Shankar Lal Chadhar told reporters that his daughter Reena called on Tuesday and told him about a dispute between her and her mother-in-law but he did not pay heed as it was a usual and internal family matter.The man said he has no information what led his son-in-law and daughter to take the extreme step and that he came to know about it in the morning. Four trekkers die on way to Sahastratal, 18 stranded
UTTARKASHI, June 5: Four members of a trekking team died and 18 others got stranded on a trek to Sahastratal alpine lake, situated at an altitude of 4,100-4,400 metres in the upper Himalayan region, an official said on Wednesday.A 22-member trekking team was sent by Himalayan View Trekking Agency, Maneri, on May 29 on a 35-km long trek from Uttarkashi.The team was constituted by 18 trekkers from Karnataka and one from Maharashtra, besides three local guides, police said. The team was to return by June 7, but lost its way due to bad weather as it approached Sahastratal from the last base camp, Bisht said.The trekking agency later found that four members of the team had died and others were stranded, the DM said.Land and aerial rescue operations have been launched in search of the trekkers, he said.The Indian Air Force has been requested to rescue the stranded trekkers and find the bodies of those who died during the Malla-Silla-Kushkalyan-Sahastratal trek, he said. NIA charge sheet against gangster Goldy Brar, 11 others
NEW DELHI, June 5: The NIA on Wednesday filed a charge sheet against Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and 11 others for their alleged involvement in the killing of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi last year, according to an official statement.Brar has been designated a terrorist by the government under the anti-terror law UAPA. According to the statement, NIA investigations have revealed the involvement of the notorious terrorist-gangster syndicate behind the killing of Gogamedi, who was shot dead in the living room of his house in Shyam Nagar colony in Jaipur.Two others Naveen Shekhawat and Ajeet Singh were killed while Gogamedi’s gunman Narender Singh was injured in the attack.Moving swiftly with its investigations in the case, the NIA arrested eight persons for their involvement in the conspiracy to kill Gogamedi, the statement from the federal probe agency said.Four others are still absconding, said the NIA statement.
