Newly-elected MP Saleng Sangma resigns as MLA

Shillong, June 10: The newly-elected Congress MP from Tura Constituency, Saleng Sangma on Monday submitted his resignation as the MLA of  Gambegre Assembly Constituency to the Assembly Secretary Andrew Simons at the Assembly secretariat here.

Asked about who will now contest from the vacant seat, he said the decision would be taken after thorough discussion with the people and party leaders.
