NONGPOH, July 10: The District Magistrate of Ri-Bhoi has announced stringent safety measures in response to the current fluid law and order situation in the district with the objective to protect government properties, including office buildings and vehicles, from potential threats.
All district heads and officers have been directed to ensure that night chowkidars are on duty and conduct regular checks. Additionally, fire extinguishers, sand, and water must be kept ready on office premises to address any emergencies. Government vehicles are advised to be parked in secure locations such as near police stations, outposts, and barracks, as designated by the Superintendent of Police, Ri-Bhoi. Parking in public or open areas is strictly prohibited, and the District Magistrate has directed that vehicles should not be kept at officers’ private residences unless properly secured.
