Murder
Police received information (July 16) that one Barnen M Sangma (51) of Sindapara village under Phulbari Police Station in West Garo Hills was suspected to have been murdered. Necessary formalities were observed and the cadaver was shifted to CH Tura for post-mortem examination.

Laptop stolen
On July 17 at about 10.20 pm, miscreant(s) stole a laptop from one Hyundai Grand i10 (ML-05X-7874) at Mawroh, Shillong.

Theft bid foiled
Olsirina Thangkhiew lodged a complaint that on July 15, around 6.40 pm, a miscreant attempted to commit theft in her residence at Lummawbah, Shillong and fled away on seeing her (complainant) domestic help.

Fraud
A female resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on July 13, while responding to an online ‘work from home scheme’, advertised on Instagram, she invested Rs. 18,810. Later, she realised that she has being duped.

Break-in
O Shankar lodged a complaint that on July 14, miscreant(s) broke into Barrack Store Office under Garrison Engineering, Shillong and stole electric wirings, three geysers, exhaust fan, tube light, bathroom fittings, etc.
