Office-bearers
The women’s wing of the ACHIK was constituted recently and approved by its parent body in Tura. The new wing will lay focus on promoting women’s education, healthcare and entrepreneurship, as well as provide support for women’s rights and gender equality. The newly elected office-bearers of the women’s wing include Elphida N Sangma (president), Jenty K Sangma (general secretary), Thangsime D Sangma (chief organising secretary), Marsha Ch Marak (joint secretary), et al.

Complaint
The Achik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima has complained to the State Bank of India (SBI) about the unavailability of different denomination notes in the ATMs in Tura. The group, in a petition, said that since denomination notes of Rs 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 are not available in the ATMs in Tura, people are forced to withdraw large amount of money from the ATMs.
